Риновирусы являются возбудителями так называемых «простудных заболеваний». Капсид этого вируса имеет форму икосаэдра, геометрической фигуры, построенной из 20 равносторонних треугольников. Оболочка сформирована из трёх различных белков, расположенных в форме пентамеров и гексамеров.
